Based in the North West of England, Vicki specialises in portrait photography which is the main focus of her practice and empathy is the central theme.
Vicki’s passion for photography began when she was diagnosed with a medical condition that affected her physical health and subsequently her mental health. Using the camera became a therapeutic vehicle for self-expression. Vicki creates self-portraits through either literally or conceptually through the projection of her intent onto the sitter. The photographic process has given Vicki comfort in channelling emotions she felt unable to express verbally, whilst offering her a path to self-discovery and healing. Influenced by the notion of mindful photography, Vicki’s photographic work has become a visual communication for promoting positive wellbeing.
